This is beautiful, I am feeling so proud to be an Indian. I am going to see this mini Taj Mahal tonight and will post my photos here. I have not seen the actual Taj Mahal in Delhi, so I am very excited for mini Taj Mahal.

A six metre metal and wood replica of the Taj Mahal Created by Bollywood film-set designer Bijon Das Gupta will travel by boat from Vauxhall to London Bridge. Replica of Taj Mahal sailed up the Thames to mark the start of the ‘India Now’ festival, a three-month season of events celebrating London’s relationship with India. The boat carrying the model sailed past many of the British capital’s best known attractions, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tate Modern and Tower Bridge.

Presiding over the launch of the festival, London Mayor Ken Livingstone said he wanted “people of India and the rest of the world to see London as an actual second home”.
The mayor was assisted at the launch by Shilpa Shetty and British actress Joanna Lumley, who was born in India. Ken Livingstone will visit Mumbai and Delhi in November to open two offices to boost business and tourism links with one of the world’s fastest growing economies. His office is co-ordinating the India Now festival of around 1,500 events at 200 cultural institutions, including a three-week showcase in Trafalgar Square from 2 August that will cost £383,000.

Other highlights include appearances by “Indian royalty” – Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, whose new film Chak De India will premiere at Somerset House, and India cricket captain Rahul Dravid.

There will be a fashion show at the Victoria & Albert Museum and exhibitions at the British Library and Museum of London, while the Regent Street festival on 2 September will have an Indian theme.

A Bollywood night will be held at Kempton Park racecourse, Sanjeev Bhaskar will give a talk at the V&A and there will be a Mumbai clubbing night at the ICA.

The 430,000-strong Indian community is the largest minority group in London .

The Mayor hopes to use the festival and his official visit to showcase contemporary India.

“Modern India is developing so rapidly that Londoners cannot refresh their knowledge of it fast enough or too often,” he said.

“I hope that all Londoners will experience the many exciting cultural events taking place throughout July to September as part of India Now. It is our biggest opportunity to enjoy the cultural richness of a country that will be a huge part of our futures.”

The Mayor has also lent his support to a new tour of London promoting the time spent in the capital by Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi.

The two-hour walk has been devised by Ajay Goyal and covers Gandhi’s five visits to London, starting in 1888 when he was training to become a barrister and used to walk up to seven miles a day searching for vegetarian food.

Many of the restaurants and places he lived in have since been demolished or destroyed in the Blitz, but the tour includes Gandhi’s first London home in Tavistock Street, Covent Garden, plus Inner Temple and Farringdon Street.

Mr Goyal said India Now was a “very positive” initiative. He added: “India is going to be one of the biggest international players in the next 10 to 20 years. If you have billions of dollars worth of Indian businesses listing on the London Stock Exchange and opening offices here, the Mayor is right to focus on India for the commercial investment and co-operation.

“I think it’s very important that India is highlighted as an example of peaceful co-existence. What we have learned in India is that you need two things to survive. You need tolerance and peace. You need to tolerate your neighbour no matter what his creed or colour or religion.”

Hey Bhagwan! Utha le…….mujhe nahi, Ekta ko.

Jusssssst kidding!!!

What’s wrong with this girl, pehle Saas-Bahu and now she is behind Gods and Lords. Please Ekta dear, have a Kit-Kat, take a break and give us a break. We all know how spiritual and divine you are, but why so much of show-off. Just stick to what you are good at……making family dramas.

Let others also make some money……I mean if you get into making incense sticks, than what will the people do who already are in this stick making business.

I don’t know what kind of advice are you getting from your spiritual guru “Sunita Menon”, but definitely you both have to go to a lonely planet and think about yourself very clearly. I think Jeetendra have to find a very dominant husband for you, who can keep you cool.

I am 100% sure that Ganpati Bappa at Siddhi Vinayak temple is also getting fed-up of this sharadha from Bollywoodwalas.

Ekta’s new business:

Ekta Kapoor’s line of incense sticks, called Ekta’s Karyasiddhi Graha Shanti Dhoop (EKGSD), which was supposed to be launched on June 7 (her birthday), will see the light of day on July 20. Over the weekend, Ekta left with her friend, tarot card reader Sunita Menon, for Puri in Orissa to participate in the Jagannath rath yatra.

Sunita Menon had advised Ekta against the launch on June 7. “Sunita told Ekta that it would be a better commercial proposition if EKGSD hit the market after July 15”. Ekta’s show Khwaish on Sony is going on air from July 16 and so is the launch of EKGSD.

Each box of EKGSD will have seven dhoop battis of different fragrances, meant for different days of the week. After returning from Jagannath rath yatra, Kapoor and Menon will walk to Siddhi Vinayak temple with EKGSD before July 20.

Shivji bachaye Ganpati bappa ko Ekta se……!

Healthy hair

Home remedy to stop hair fall and facilitate growth.

Dandruff: poor nutrition, stress and hormonal imbalances are some reasons that lead to hair fall.
Home remedy: Mix one tsp castor oil and two tsp pure coconut oil. Heat the mixture and apply it on your hair and scalp, twice a week. Avoid a vigorous head massage.
Massage your scalp gently in small circular motions, using your fingertips.

Eat a small bowl of sprouts daily. Add fruits, veggies, soyabean and curd to your diet.

My vote goes to Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, who is fighting as an independent backed by the opposition.
The July 19 elections will choose the successor of APJ Abdul Kalam. The new president will take office on July 25th.

The Contenders:
Pratibha Patil and Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

Pratibha Patil is infact “Shekhawat”. She is married to Devisingh Ransingh Shekhawat.

Remedy for blackheads

Remedy for blackheads on forehead and black spots on the ridge of nose, created by wearing spectacles?

Blackheads occur on oily skin, or oily areas of combination skin. After washing your face, wipe your forehead and other oily areas with a mild astringent (available at a chemist).
Facial scrub for blackheads and the dark spot on the bridge of your nose:

Mix rice powder with rose water, and apply it on the affected areas. Gently rub your skin in circular motions. Leave it on for a few minutes, and rinse.

When it comes to surfing for smut, UK is top on the list.

British towns claimed the top six spots in a global list of the places where the most people typed ‘porn’ into Google-trends search engine.

Milton Keynes was at No.1, followed by Sheffield, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Thames Ditton in Surrey.

Dublin was seventh. Milton Keynes also topped the chart for the most searches using the keyword ‘tits’. Birmingham was second, followed by Manchester and Thames Ditton.
