{"id":92,"date":"2007-09-11T12:27:58","date_gmt":"2007-09-11T19:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheetalsethi.com\/blog\/general\/first-hindu-school-in-london\/"},"modified":"2007-09-11T12:27:58","modified_gmt":"2007-09-11T19:27:58","slug":"first-hindu-school-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sheetalsethi.com\/blog\/general\/first-hindu-school-in-london\/","title":{"rendered":"First Hindu school in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Hindu state school is to be built in north London in Borough of Harrow.  <\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for leading Hindu charity the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.i-foundation.org\/projects.php\">I-Foundation<\/a> said that the school would cost around \u00a310m to build and is expected to open its doors to its first pupils in September next year. <\/p>\n<p>Sited on Camrose Avenue, Edgware, the 236-place, one-form-of-entry primary school is at the heart of the highest concentration of Hindus in the UK, with around a third of local residents of the Hindu faith. <\/p>\n<p>I-Foundation Director Nitesh Gor said:  <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This is an incredibly exciting moment for the UK&#8217;s Hindu community.
